J. Manuel Núñez has extensive experience in financial and tax consulting. Currently, he is leading middle-market transactions across a variety of structures including leveraged buyouts, mergers, family / founder capital solutions, buy and build strategies.

His primary areas of industry focus have included manufacturing, real estate, financial services, business services and technology sectors.

  • Partner at Ascendis Capital. He is responsible for investment origination, assessing new investment opportunities, as well as, assisting with due diligence, deal execution and closing. He has approached industries such as: technology, plastics injection, packaging and B2B services. He is experienced in researching emerging investment opportunities, performing valuations, advanced financial modeling and structuring the deal with debt and equity contributions.
  • From 2007 to 2020, Manuel served as Senior Manager for EY. He began his career at EY in Monterrey, Mexico. He has dedicated to tax advisory, M&A services, including design and assistance for financial-tax planning, modeling, investments and restructuring services. His participation in projects were mainly for industries like retail, real estate, manufacturing and financial services. As part of his engagement serving clients has produced more than US$1.5M in fees through business development and building-up customer relationship.
  • He had an international experience for an 18-month assignment at the Los Angeles, California Office at Ernst & Young LLP, working on U.S. taxation for federal and state compliance.
